She didn't give him a time, and he wasn't going to text to ask for one, so he arrived just under an hour later. He was dressed in construction clothes from the worn boots, jeans and sweatshirt over a t-shirt (nothing Inara hadn't seen before when he worked at her house). Derek wore a baseball cap and sunglasses which he hung off the front of his sweatshirt once stepping through the front door. His toolbelt draped over his sizable toolbox in hand that he carried inside with him.

He called out "Hello" at walking in, just in case Inara had given him the wrong address. Derek waited to be greeted before going further. In his experience, it was pointless to knock on a door if work was being done unless the door was locked.
