Her smile was just a little smirky as she glanced back at him.

"I usually wear black."

Pretty much consistently. She was the type who'd wear black until they figured out a darker color for her. Less goth about it, more ninja.

"And I don't wear heels."

...she'd tried Barbara's costume once. Never. Again.

"I'll get the uniform when the paperwork is done?" Headtilt. "And my first shift?"

"Then you'll feel right at home," Derek responded with his own slight smirk.

He gave a nod at her first question, taking a sip of water from his nearby water bottle that he swooped up as they walked past. "Is gonna depend on how quick Izzy can clear you to start. I've gotta check the schedule and see where the holes are. If she can start you by tonight, I'll be in around eight to check the line up for the night."

Meaning that Cassandra could contact him if she wanted to pick up hours ASAP.

"I can start tonight. I have no other standing commitments."

She considers what he'd said, running a hand absently over her hair before turning back.

"I will stop by around eight. If you have work for me and everything is clear then, I'll stay."

She smiles a little, the first real expression of something closer to happiness.

"I may stay anyway. I like dancing."

His grin widened. "Not a bad idea. You can case the place while under the radar," he quipped with a wink.

"Just ask for me at the door. I'll let them know I'm expecting you." Derek concluded without teasing, still holding a friendly grin. He liked her gumption. Cassandra was a keeper.
