I've gotta check the schedule and see where the holes are. If she can start you by tonight, I'll be in around eight to check the line up for the night."
Meaning that Cassandra could contact him if she wanted to pick up hours ASAP.
His grin widened. "Not a bad idea. You can case the place while under the radar," he quipped with a wink.
"Just ask for me at the door. I'll let them know I'm expecting you." Derek concluded without teasing, still holding a friendly grin. He liked her gumption. Cassandra was a keeper.

Pretty much consistently. She was the type who'd wear black until they figured out a darker color for her. Less goth about it, more ninja.

She considers what he'd said, running a hand absently over her hair before turning back.
"I will stop by around eight. If you have work for me and everything is clear then, I'll stay."
She smiles a little, the first real expression of something closer to happiness.
"I may stay anyway. I like dancing."
