Up to you. We have some full time. Some part time. The club's open 10hrs a night which can feel long working the floor depending on the venue and your interest in the music playing. Mostly, I'd need a demonstration of skills before I know where you'd be assigned. And there's a brief background with our floor manager, Isabelle.
I'll have to see where our holes are in staffing. I'm not at the club right now. Most do a 5hr shift. Some will stay a full night just 2 or 3 times a week.
Come to The Wolf's Den to demonstrate your skill. I teach judo and help out with a couple classes there, on top of sticking around to spar a few days a week.
[This takes a few minutes before the reply comes. Writing is not her strong suit.]
I would mostly watch the club to make sure that no patrons are starting trouble, either in harassing others or being violent. Should I observe a situation, I would walk over and settle things until everyone is peaceful and no one is being troubled. The objective would be peaceful resolution, followed by the removal of trouble making elements who cannot behave themselves in a group environment.
I like clubs and dancing. And I've assisted a bouncer or two when a situation became unpleasant.
Almost exactly to the minute, she's there an hour later. While she isn't the best at the detective portion of her vocation, she's still quite capable of finding a public building.
She'd dressed practically: her usual jeans, boots, and black leather jacket. The kind of clothes she traveled in. The kind of clothes she doesn't mind fighting in.
She has a feeling he's going to want to see her in action.
While dressing casually worked fine for Elysium, she stuck out at the Wolf's Den. Most wore workout clothes if not martial arts uniforms. Granted, some did come in street clothes but usually with a bag to change clothing in the dojo. Derek was in sweats and immediately strolled over from the available floor space he'd been waiting at. He told her an hour but came earlier to test her punctuality. Another mark in her favor.
"Any chance you're here for a job somewhere else?" he asked in a friendly tone with a matching stare.
She'd considered bringing a bag, wearing something that looked like workout clothes. But the fact of the matter is that she'll be working in clothing like this, more than likely. And if she was going to prove herself to him, she wanted to do it while dressed as she would for her possible new position.
All the same, she did remove her shoes at the door, placing them neatly where they belonged before making her way to Derek.
"Derek Morgan," he replied and extended a hand in greeting.
"You won't necessarily get to warm up on the job but you don't have it just yet so feel free to stretch or do what you need to before we start. There's two or three scenarios I'm gonna run you through."
A student from his judo class (probably unknown to Cassandra) walked toward the rear of the floor space. Derek glanced toward the man's direction with acknowledgement. Both had some size on the prospective employee but that would be the case at Elysium. If it was dangerous to have her on the rave floor, there were lower incident areas he could still assign her to. But something told Derek that probably wouldn't be the case.
She nodded and rolled one shoulder, then the other, before doing a few quick loosening moves. She'd made sure she was prepared for a fight before she'd left the apartment, some portion of her wondering if he'd test her without her knowledge. It wasn't normal thinking, but she had no idea what he might expect here, considering.
Once she was done, she walked towards him, her eyes flicking between the two men. Both of them had distinct and clear voices, simple enough for her to read their bodies. It was a good sign for the test to come.
Anyone else might have taken her size and gender for granted but Morgan knew full well that looks could be deceiving. He hoped his student wasn't fooled. It was one thing to tell someone to be on their toes and another for them to actually listen. However, Derek picked one of his top students for a reason. He gave the man a nod then looked back to Cassandra.
"Elysium isn't a bar but it does have one and alcohol flows freely enough where there's the occasional bar brawl. As security, I want my team to be able to cease and desist conflict as quickly and quietly as they can. I'll always back you in public and criticize in private if there's anything that needs correcting. We don't want to call for medical if it can be helped but FYI, one of the club partners is a medic if it comes down to it."
Derek turned back to his student and yelled, "Hey, Man. Hands off! That's my girl!" then proceeded to shove the other man. The first fight was kept as a simple shoving match for her to break up. She'd face a second where punches were thrown and the two guys would be entangled. The third, they'd redirect their aggression towards her--stopping if it was too much.
[ooc: Don't know if you wanna do the fighting play by play. I can edit, if you rather. I'm not good at them but I'll try! ]
...well I just did the same thing so... even? *facepalm*
Like a shadow, she was suddenly between the two men and pushing them apart with surprisingly strong hands.
When there were punches, those were grabbed and redirected, held as she informed them that they would be asked to leave.
And for the last, the same was done: it was clear that she had no intention of throwing any punches or kicks if she could possibly at all avoid it. Instead, she used her strength and her skill to harmlessly redirect, to dodge, and to control her combatants with an eye for keeping the conflict close enough that they shouldn't flail out and harm anyone else. The general feel that one would get from seeing her in action was that she could do significantly more than she was doing, and that at all times, the fight was in her control.
"Impressive," Derek stated with a nod while slightly out of breath. The same couldn't be said for his volunteer student who might have been younger than his instructor but not as conditioned.
Morgan looked to his help and engaged in a handshake pulled into a slight shoulder bump with a pat to the man's back in thanks so the kid could be on his way. He immediately looked back to Cassandra. "You can have any position on the security team that you want. With what you just did, you can easily handle what typically goes on there," he told while leading the way off the open floor space, in case anyone else wanted the area.
"I'll let Izzy know you're on your way. It shouldn't take her more than a day to get everything done paperwork-wise, if that. One of us two will let you know when you'e clear to start." Derek recently lost one of his assistant managers and now had Cassandra in mind for the spot. He'd observe her work ethic for a week or two before offering.

At Elysium, correct. Hours are between 7p and 5a. Different venues during the week.

Mind telling me what you think being part of security for the club will consist of? Curious to know what you think you're going to be doing.

Good answers. Just one more question before we meet... What's your fighting style or training to defend yourself and others?
no subject
All of them.
I would rather explain more in person.

Alright. If you're really in a rush, I'll meet you at The Wolf's Den in an hour

MY BAD! Lost track of this in my inbox
